#1 Unread post by ironraptor04 »

hey i just found this forum. i just bought this bike and i was wondering how i could make it a little louder. i love the look of this bike it is just a little to quite for me. i want to keep the 2 pipes and that style. i was wondering if any one has ever tried to remove the baffles and if so how would you do it because they are riveted in and then if i did that what jet sizes should i do. i have no problem jetting it my self just give me a idea of where to start thanks guys

Punch a couple holes in it.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

If you want it to be louder, punch a couple of holes in the exhaust.

In the end, around the existing exits. Not in the sides.

Do or do not.... there is no 'back'.

Try drilling out the pop rivets and removing the insides of the muffler. There should be a series of cones that you could cut off one at a time. Reassemble with sheetmetal screws and start the bike. Is it anoy...loud enough now. If not disassemble, cut off another cone and try again. As BuzZz said there is no going back once you've cut them.

Go here: http://www.nighthawk750.com/

Go to "Modifications" then to the "Tim Hodge Exhaust Mod"

Read the whole thing.

Also check out the "CArb Needle Washer Mod"

These mods should give you what you want without completely destroying the exhaust system.
