Bike Shop Experience

I just had a weird experience, though rather surprisingly pleasant. The short version is as follows: I go on cycle trader, find a gs500e for a good price, and decided to go to the shop to take a look. The shop happens to be on the way down to my friends place about an hour away so I decided to make a trip with one of my friends. We decided to visit my friends, hit up the shore and stop at the shop along the way. When I get there I go in and the sales people are all talking to other customers so me and my friend that I drove down with started looking at some of the other bikes, about two minutes later a sales rep came over and asked how he could help, I asked about the bike I saw on cycle trader, the gs500 and the guy tells me he sold it yesterday. I was bummed, but this is the third time I went to a shop only to miss my opportunity by a day or so. However at the other shops they tried pushing me to get a new bike (I had posted this before) and moreover a much bigger bike. This shop simply said we sold it, sorry

. Then he told me the only other gs500s he had were the Fs, and walked away, no pressure, when I said I did not want a new or full fairing bike. I just wanted to share since I had some bad experiences in the other shops and this one was rather painless, although again I am disappointed. Thus my search continues for a gs500e Ex250 or EX500 in good shape for reasonable price!

Its good that you found a sane shop. A bike will appear. Its just a fast market with it bring spring. Summer will bring more bikes on the market and less people buying.

Don't worry, search and you will find..
My case was a little bit different. I came to the shop looking for my first bike.
Saw a suzuki 650s and wanted to buy it. A guy came (shop owner) and started to talk me to buy bandit 1200 as my first bike. Because suzuki sv650s would be too weak for me.
I bought sv650 in the other place (cheeper, better condition), still riding it, plenty of power...

never came to that shop again.

And this post is about ...................................what?
You didn't mention the bathroom stop you made or which way the doors to the place opened.

A bit long winded just to say the guy didn't hassle him. Must be an "advertising major", going to law school or into politics.

I am not even thinking the salesman was moral...
prolly either had made his sales for the month or prefers a soft approach...

Actually, I am [in law school], so what of it
and I posted because I was frustrated, the "long winded" approach is because the post was not only about not being hassled, but about having a hard time finding or just missing my chance to snag beginner bikes!
edit: Ok it might have been long-winded, i just wanted to make the post more narrative so it was easier to read

Don't let him rile you up - your post was fine.

I guess putting GS500e's on CycleTrader is a dealer stunt. When I was looking for a bike I found an awesome GS500e on CycleTrader for a decent price. I called the dealership and the salesman told me he had sold it the day before. Then about a week later, I saw that they had relisted the bike. Knobs.
