Need a Stator

I need a new stator for my V-Star 1100 Classic and Yamaha wants $315 or some websites are asking around $305 (about the same by the time I add shipping). I have not had to buy parts for my bike yet, but I was wondering if there is somewhere to get refurbished parts like you can do for cars or trucks? Or do I just have to bite the bullet and spend over $300.00??

Go there. Email all of the shops in the first paragraph and you will get a dozen quotes for used parts within a day or two.

There are a couple on eBay - one for $100 and one for $145.

What year is your bike? Mrcycles wants $222 for a new one for a '99 and $203 for an '04.
