What do you mean by ignition cover? I'm not familiar with that term
. Is it a grind or a rattle? Does it increase with rpms or dissappear at certain rpms? Does it sound like something is shaking around in there? Or just like something is clacking.
As a guess I'd say your camchain tensioner might have given up the fight, but it could literally be anything in there...
Do you stunt? Have you crashed recently? When did the sound first start? What happened right before that?

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

They didn't teach you what an ignition cover is up in Fairview, Sev? Time to start calling the school and complaining. Loudly.
Here's one on an R-1....

As for the grinding noise..... could be the flywheel nut has backed off, or a hunka crud as slipped in past the vent and is banging around in there, or something busted off and is doing the same.
Really, taking that cover off is pretty easy. Yank that thing and take a peek. That will tell you more than any answer you'll get asking someone.

No Witnesses....

Something new every day!
Like BuzZz said, haul it off and look inside, try to be a little careful pulling it off, as if you rip the gasket you'll leak oil until you replace it.
And when you tighten it back on, do so in a cross pattern.
