jacket fit
jacket fit
I used the search and could not find anything about how a jacket should fit. I just got a Cortech jacket and it's pretty tight on me...the chest is fine and the sleeves go right up to my wrists in riding position...it just feels kinda small to me but looks big in the mirror because of the armor...is this normal? Thanks
Riding jackets take a bit to get use to. But you do want it fitting as comfortably as it can. Sleeves should not roll up on you. If so, move up a size. The rest of the jacket should be relatively well fitting - al be it, odd at first.
There a tons of companies and each brand has it own quirks on how they fit. But overall, make sure the armor sits in the right places as you are sitting on your bike in the riding position.

well i think this jacket will be strictly a summer jacket...even with the removable liner, it's fine...it's comfortable enough and the armor sits fine on my shoulders and elbows...i think it's just a "getting used to it" type of deal...thanks everyone...i showed the jacket off to my girlfriend and she said i look like a starship trooper...its a good thing i loved that movie haha

You want it kinda tight. It's a pain to have a jacket act like a sail on a boat.
When I test for fit, one thing that I do is cross wrists while holding out your arm straight out. The sleeves shouldn't crawl past your wrist bone and the back of the jacket shouldn't cramp your shoulders from freely moving.
Also, the back length shouldn't expose your butt "crack" while reaching forward. It should be long enough where you don't experience draft to your butt cheeks. Then again, you might like that.
