I Love it. Except wind buffeting from underneath gusting up my torso & vibrating my goggles making things blurry, gets real old real quick on trips. I need a solution. Hate to start throwing money at it. Will lower deflectors clear this up for sure?

Yamahaw service rep was no help at all.

I forget not everyone knows every model. Shield comes standard on the 1300 Vstar Tourer. It has 3 optional sizes, I have the tall one. The wind seems to be coming from underneath the windshield, up over my knees & around the gas tank. I can put my hand horizontal at my sternum & it blocks wind from pounding my face. I can also put my hand almost horizontal with the side of the tank, like a wing extending out of it & it reduces it. In looking at lowers, it seems to me that due to them tapering from fat to thin, top to bottom, they wouldn't do the job.

Can the windshield be lowered at all? Sounds to me like the wind is coming between your headlight and the windshield possibly. See how much of a gap there is. I've seen some shields with a seal there like you'd put on the bottom of a door. If that's where the wind is coming from, try puting some duct tape in that gap to make sure before doing anything drastic.
If the wind is coming from around the sides of the tank, lower deflectors would probably be just the thing.
Good Luck and keep us posted. I'm looking at the 1300 Tourer as a possible second bike in a couple years. I'd like to know how things progress.

Windshield is fixed, air not coming in between lite & shield. It's definately coming from the ground up over my knees into my face. Can't find mounting kits for it. Waiting on someone to wake up & make a profit, I've talked to a few who have one & same problem.

Lowers may deflect it just enough to get it away from you. It's surprising how much a little bit can go... However, the aerodynamics may be such that there will not be a total fix for this unless you can make something yourself.
