I bought a practically brand new GZ250 and I finally found the time to take it out on the road (since the MSF) course. It was really fun. I put on about 15 miles around my neighborhood (Lakeland, FL) and then I ventured out into the traffic, which was not as scary as I thought it would be. It was a pretty windy day today and I got a little scared once or twice because it almost pushed me into another car. Some clueless slagheap cut me off talking on the godblessed CELL PHONE!

as for cell phones. i think they should be banned in cars. unless someone installs a hands-free device. everytime i see a cager with one on his/her ear they seem to drive like idiots.

Yeah, ditto to what everyone else said. People on their cells phone will try to kill you without ever knowing. The worst thing is even when you avoid the accident they came close to causing they remain totally oblivious. I think there is a law going into effect in Ca. regarding cell phone...I think it's something like you will be required to use a hands free device when on the cell in the car , don't know when it starts. Don't know if folks will pay any more attention though, their still talking.

I honestly think cell phone laws are not the solution, and just plain idiotic! The problem is the lack of driving skills and multi-tasking ability that some motorists can not handle. I drive stick and can talk on my cell at the same time with no issue. It is not hard to maintain speed and regulate lane changing while holding a phone to your ear. Perhaps other commuters get too involved with their conversations? Regardless of any laws passed, it will only be broken countless times. Just like seat belt laws.

Of course its a good solution, you remove the temptation for those people who DONT have driving skills to multitask when they aren't able to.
And of course people are going to break the law - and they will be punished for it. The validity of a law shouldn't be measured by how many people will follow it.
