-Holiday and I had been planning a ride up to Nova Scotia for the week of May 26-June 2nd since around October/November last year. Unfortunately Nova Scotia wasn't having any of that and decided to remain in the 50s for the week we had planned, so we scrapped the ride.

-Holiday had planned out a route going up through some New England states then heading due south to North Carolina, but as the last few days approached we switched plans again. This was to be the norm for our trip, but we had fun just picking our route as we went along. I'm sure he'll have plenty to add to this (if he doesn't start his own topic).

This is a short batch of photos from our first day.

-Holiday arrived at my house around 9:30 or so on Friday night having bombed up the highway from Philly to Boston with few stops. He went and crashed in the spare room in short order, and I went to bed before long as well so that I could get up in the morning.

Unfortunately the next day it took me a while to figure out loading up the bags and for us to get underway, but we finally got there. Our first destination for the evening was to be Montpelier VT, via some nice scenic roads.

My bike all loaded up

We had to make a few stops before heading up to meet with RideYourRide, but we finally made it by early afternoon. RideYourRide took us to lunch at a cute little place in (I think..) Newmarket NH, then we were off up Route 16 for a short ride before we parted ways.

-Holiday and I headed up Rt 16 to meet up with Rt 112 aka the Kancamagus byway through the White Mountain National park in NH. It's a popular motorcycling road - and very popular leaf-peeping road in the fall.

We took a short walk around and snapped some photos of the (Saco?) river there:

We continued on and encountered a fun few hundred yard stretch of road work that took the pavement to large rocks and gravel, then back to pavement again. We stopped again shortly after that for a great view of the white mountains from one of the many stops on the side of the road:

And of course the required shot of the bikes:

More to come..

Why thank you. It's taking me some time because I'm editing some videos along with the photos so I kind of edited myself out for a bit. I'm sure I'll do more and another writeup soon. :)

I never take enough photos.

Right, so next time to you come up to NE you have to do the Lake Champlain loop. It either goes up NY and comes down VT or vice versa. Takes a lil while (sometimes more than a day) but well worth it, especially on a nice day. Lake Champlain is beautiful.

We actually did do some of this - we took the ferry from VT to NY on day 2, then back on day 3 and did some more great roads in VT. :)
