v-star 1100 2006

#1 Unread post by codex5 »

i own a v-star1100 classic 2006, put on cobra lowboys about 3 months ago, everything been running great, i have about 3k miles on my bike, but lately, when i start my bike, it will idle for a while, and idle great, but suddenly it just completely cuts off , like somoene hit the kill switch, and it will do that about 3 times before the bike completely warms up... then when i start to go, it will take off normal, but then it feels like the bike isnt getting any gas, and it chugs, almost dying, and sometimes it does; but once it goes through that rutine, the bike runs like normal, and idles normal never cuts off, and throttle response is normal Not sure what the deal is, why things seem to be acting this way now and not erlier, i havnt done any performance changes besides the exhaust, perhaps i need to rejet?

It's possible that you leaned it out to much and have started to burn the valves. Take it in to a mechanic and see about getting a general inspection done of the engine, and a rejet to account for the increased airflow your new exhaust caused.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
