My 2nd rock hitting my helmet this season

From some of the last responses, on my last post on the first rock hitting my visor, today my 2nd rock hit my helmet. All in one year.
I do live in the country but these are asphalt roads with gravel shoulders. It really pisses me off because it scares the heck out of me at the moment and reminds me why I wear a full face helmet.
So far I have yet to get hit in the neck with a rock but that's covered by my medium windshield.
That sucker would have bleeding like a Texas oil well. It just ruins a otherwise nice ride.

I had one hit my visor right between the eyes the other day. Yuck.
I've been dinged in the neck by small ones, and in the legs before I got my overpants. People around here like to cut corners and spray gravel into the intersections.

My helmet is a network of scrapes, chips, scratches and scars from various roadgoing hazards. Some of them are rather impressive... my coworkers were laughing at me yesterday about it actually... almost time to get a new one.
I've caught stuff in the neck, and yes, it really hurts, but you'll live... probably.
I've also come home with bruises on my legs off stuff that's been kicked up off the road by vehicles in front of me.
All in all, it's a pretty dangerous hobby we've got.

I am so thankful I wear a helmet and glad I use the visor.....the stones that fling out of dump truck wheels fly fast and hard.
Big bugs at highway speed also hurt like heck....The gloves sure do help.

Same goes for pants, I wonder about the people wearing shorts, as various objects have hit my shins and knees. That's gotta hurt. Do they just suck it up as the price of riding, or the price of looking cool or just being less hot?
I wouldn't want to clean my legs and arms of bugs and dirt from rides as I get to my destination. How hot looking is that?

No kidding....after some rides, I can hardly see the pants for all the dead bugs on them.

The rocks go for my hands. Its the big fat juicy bugs that nail my helmet. generally right over my right eye.

I had another pebble/stone hit my right index finger tip. Thank God I was wearing my gloves. Even though there just mesh with some padding it.
I was suprised it didn't hit my front brake lever instead, but maybe it did graze it before finding my finger tip.
