Need route advise Winter Park, Colorado to Muskegon Michigan

Hey I am new here and new to the sport in general, but I was hoping some of you had some good advise for my upcoming trip. In a week I will be traveling from Colorado to Michigan and was thinking about different road options. I normally have driven across I-80 and while that is probably the quickest I would love to find a more scenic and enjoyable ride. Someone I was talking about suggested going across 90 and I was even thinking about heading north and through the upper penninsula of Michigan and then driving down to Muskegon. Any advise or experience with roads along this way? Also any good touring tips would be appreciated. I have a good bag setup and will be able to pack relatively light for the trip.
