Front tire size comp.

I've never been a big fan of choppers with uber-thin front tires. I'd rather prefer a bike with a front and rear as big and fat as they like to put on the rear end of choppers nowadays. I've seen some bigger road bikes with pretty chunky front tires.

How do they stack up? Much traction/control difference between the two?

This probably won't sound very technical, but it seems a fatter tire on the front would drastically hinder cornering, and handling. With a wider front tire, you would have a wider lean arc, and it would therefore take longer to get the bike leaned over in the corners. It would be especially detrimental to sporbikes. You do occasionally see the larger cruisers with wider fronts though, and quick cornering isn't the aim for those bikes, so the handling really isn't an issue there.
