Does anyone have experience using those stainless steel mesh washable oil filters?

No but I've had real good luck with the foam ones. HD,K&N,Motorfactory and UNI. They need cvcleaned about twice as often as you have to change paper ones. Last about 10 yrs before foam goes to hell.
