Hey everyone i am working on a 1984 v45 750. i need to adjust the valves and jet the carbs for high elevation (5000 feet from sea level).
your tips and advice would be helpful. rock on

That would best be left to a mechanic unless you are. Then you need a either the servcie manual or owners. My gap settings are in my owner manual but not the bolt torque settings that you would need. Which is why you really need a service manual.

Sounds like you intend to keep the bike. If so, then purchasing a copy of the service manual would be worth the cost. For all your torque, voltage, gap, timing settings along with more than you ever wanted to know about your bike.

BTW- nice bike, my friend had one in '87. Rode very sweet. Nice starter bike too because you could also keep it for the long term as well.

If your bike doesn't have the top end oil mod, I'd recommend that you get it ASAP. The '84 model really needs it.

I've just dropped my '85 V65 Sabre (mine is bigger, mine is bigger ) off at the shop. The mechanic asked me if I have the modified cams put on, apparently both the V45's and V65's of that era were real bears when it came to cams and valve problems. You might want you mechanic to check them out for you if you decide to let a pro work on your engine.

hi guys thanks for the info. i a actually am a pro, i run a shop in utah and have about 10 years experience fixing, building, and turbo ing most small engines and sleds and quads i just dont have the specs for an older honda bike i can probably get them i thought this might be easier.
