Hmm, Idiocy control?

Well, as sad as it sounds, I think ive found myself to be a little less responsible and a little more of an idiot than I should be.

Problem is, I enjoy speed and corners and such way too much...... I love to push my limits a little more every chance I get, but I really really dont wanna endanger anyone else in that process...

Anyone have tips on how I can better control myself? Im using willpower, and sticking with my little 250 instead of moving up as my main inhibitors, but sometimes that little voice in my head pushes a little too hard for me and like I said, I never want to endanger other people.....

I would recommend taking it to a track but since there are none in Hawaii you're stuck on the roads. :frusty:

You on the big island? Take it to Saddle Rd. Just look out out for the Army convoys once you're west of mauna kea a bit.

sadly oahu, not too many options at all.... id LOVE a track, theres a ton of us who would but theres no option lol.

I mean, im not pulling crazy 160 mph runs, but I think I gotta hold off on my agressiveness....

If you can't back off the aggressiveness, get a much smaller bike or give it up.

I talked to 2 guys in my ERC last weekend that were aggressive riders and hung it up after some really bad accidents and were only now coming back on cruisers after 25-30 years.

Don't wait til you have a bad accident or kill yourself.

If you cannot control it and a track (or safe, appropriate option is not available), stop riding.

As a rider you know you are responsible for your own safety, but if you're going to be 'that guy' who crosses the centerline and kills someone, get off the road.

I don't mean to come down on you hard, and I know that at one point or another we all get that little devil on our shoulders as we're feeling 'one with the road'. I think you're smart enough to know that I'm saying the above with flat out honesty and not criticism, just a reality check is all.

Take it to heart before you hurt someone else. If you want to hurt yourself being dumb, at least go isolate yourself.

You could try a cruiser, you'd be amazed how much having a laid back seating position affects your driving/riding, to having an aggressive upright or leaned forwards one.

No idea why, but it does

Yeah, I dont take offense at all, but im taking steps to be safer and at least trying first. Im sure you guys know how hard it would be to just quit cold turkey......

I may seem more of a danger than I actually am, I dont do anything too intensely crazy, the main thing is I just like hitting the turns as good as I can...... gives a real feeling of accomplishment. Ive never pushed it to the point of going across the divider or anything like that.... but sometimes I look down and where I should be at say 30, im at 55 or higher.

Im not trying to overly-defend myself as I know I can be dumb at times, but im taking steps to be more in control of my will than that.....

Hopefully I can move somewhere with a track so I can get a freakin outlet though lol

You've got a great handle on recognizing the situation - just keep that with your head on straight 8)

That's kinda crappy there's not an available track. When will you be back Conus?
