I'm taking the MSF beginner's course this weekend. I use to have a scooter to ride but it got stolen and I'm stuck taking the class(No refunds). I won't have anything to ride when i finish but am i going to enjoy this class?
What are a few things that i should expect? Is there a possibility of me failing since I've never driven a motorcycle before?
Anyone who's taking the course I'm sure can enlighten me with what to expect.

Expect a full introduction to motorcycling, from very basics, which sets you on the path to continue learning safely on the roads

go into the msf prepared to learn the basics, practice fundamentals and drills. can you fail? sure.
however, if you have ridden a scooter before you should some experience to help. they emphasize the S in the mSf, which is a good thing.

are you going to enjoy the class?? depends on your attitude about the class. most people i talk to seem to really enjoy the class.
the class is designed to teach people who have never ridden a motorcycle the basics of riding... there is always the chance you can fail, but there's no reason you should go into the class believing you're going to fail. think of it this way, the instructors are there to help you learn the basics of riding - they're not there to fail you.

Sorry about the scooter, meant to tell you that earlier. That sucks.
I went to the course knowing zip about m-cycles never having ridden one or been near one. As for enjoyment, well, it will depend on you but most people I've talked to really enjoyed it.

See my blog. It has a long article on my experiences in MSF class.

I understand that the class can vary a bit from location to location, and two years later they've probably updated some things.
If you keep in mind that those 2-3 days will make you a more proficient and safer rider no matter how experienced you are, you'll probably be more excited to be there.
If they also enable you to get a license or ride in certain locations (military bases are making it a requirement) or if it lowers your insurance premiums or gives you the confidence to get a better bike, then that should motivate you as well.[/url]

very insightful blog. I want to pass and I hope it's really enjoyable since these past few weeks have been crap. Only 2 things holding me together is the BRC and Harry Potter movie/book

For someone learning english, your writing is very good. As you asked, here's how I'd write it.

Mmh mmh ... In Italy using a motorbike on the road is very dangerous, because the traffic is very, very strong.

I hope you find this useful. I just wish, I was as good at a second language as you are with my first language.

I took the course at the end of May and had a blast! I now have a serious case of bike fever.
They start you off really slow. In the first exercise we pushed our partners on the bikes with the ignition turned off. Then you start the bikes up and do some very simple drills which get progressively more complex (and fun I thought!).
Have fun!
