Well, it's also worth $2.13CDN so you could come over here instead and entertain us by getting the holy cr*p kicked out of you for going into a bar and asking for a "packet of cigarettes".

Sadly I can't oblige as I quit smoking six months ago.

Part of me is considering asking random people "How much?" and when they reply "huh?" say "for the state"

Would it be cruel to do this in an IHoP?

These are 04 figures, but I can't imagine the ranking have changed that much.

--------from the same link above:

And The Winners Are...

Another measure that determines the world's richest countries is the GNP per capita based on global purchasing power parity (PPP). GNP per capita based on PPP represents the statistic converted to international dollars using purchasing power parity rates. An international dollar has the same purchasing power in a given country as a U.S. dollar has in the United States.

Ten Richest Countries (based on 2004 PPP GNP per capita in international$)

1. Luxembourg ... $61,610
2. United States ... $39,820
3. Norway ... $38,680
4. Switzerland ... $35,660
5. Ireland ... $32,930
6. Iceland ... $32,370
7. Austria ... $31,800
8. Denmark ... $31,770
9. Hong Kong ... $31,560
10. Belgium ... $31,530

The U.K. finished in 11th place with PPP GNP per capita of $31,430 while Canada came in 5 places lower at 16th place with $30,760 in international $.
