Carb settings for '81 sx 400 yamaha

#1 Unread post by herrderbs »

Hi there....new to this world of bikes. I'm cleaning up an old Yamaha 400 Heritage Special with the help of a somewhat more experienced bike owner, and need to know what the carb settings are...specifically for the floats. Is there anything on-line I can access...like fer free?

Thanks

You could try calling a Yamaha dealership... but you would probably have a lot more luck actually going in and talking to them. There might be someone willing to look it up for you (if they still have the manual).
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

It depends...

XS 400 D/E 32.0mm/1.26in

XS 400 2E 25.7mm/1.0in

XS 400 F/2F 32.0mm/1.26in

XS 400 G/SG/H 27.3mm/1.1in

Chilton's Motorcycle and ATV Repair Manual 1945-1985

If your going to be working on it you'll need one of these.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
