anyone know how to prevent gasoline syphoning?

hi everybody, i leave my motorscooter parked outside at night in a parking lot, and have to take a ferry home every night. this morning i got back to the scooter to go to work and found my gas low warning light on, even though the night before it was 3/4 full. i figure someone popped the seat latch (gas cover is under the seat), and siphoned all but the emergency reserve out. i don't really see a way i can park anywhere safer in the area, any ideas on how i can prevent this happening?

the gas cap is a simple screw on/off thing, with no lock, the only lock is the seat cover, which i open with a key, but it seems easy enough to open by jamming a screwdriver in and prying it open. the gas tank also has no anti-syphoning device in it.

any ideas would be appreciated, i got the bike recently specifically to save money on gas commuting to and from work, now it seems i'm pretty screwed...

You might be able to find a locking gascap that'll fit. Or you could drill some holes in it and fit something that'll put a padlock on it.

Pictures of the area would help.

That'll take care of the problem, without a doubt
