Not many of us follow racing it seems but THIS news is worth a mention in the Cannuck forum.
Moto-GP is the pinnicle of all motorcycle racing. All machines in this premier class of racing are mega$$$ prototypes that all road racers from every road-racing motorcycle class aspire to ride. Our own very successful Canadian rider Miguel Duhammel has earned a guest shot at Laguna Seca on the Honda RC212V due to an injury of Moto-GP regular Toni Elias. Miguel has been one of the most exciting racers in the AMA since his guest shot win on the RC30 at Daytona in 1991. Does he have a chance against the best in the world when he is both qualifying and racing AMA Superbike ON THE SAME DAY? It would be a hell of a stretch, but then this is the man who won two classes at Daytona with injuries so severe that he had to be lifted on to the bike.
If you have never watched Moto-GP, you should. If not for any other reason than to cheer on one fo the most exciiting motorcycle racers to come along (who also just happens to be a Cannuck).
Check for listings on CBS on the July 21-22 weekend.
