May Is Motorcycle Safety, Awareness Month
posted May 14, 2005
CMT/ABATE, Concerned Motorcyclists of Tennessee/American Bikers Active Towards Education, in cooperation with Motorcycle Rider Education Program, Department of Safety and Tennessee Highway Patrol, have launched a billboard, and bumper sticker campaign in support of the Tennessee Legislature’s Joint Proclamation of “May is Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month."
Rep. Judd Matheny sponsored the House Joint Resolution, HJR 021, which was adopted on Feb. 2, and signed into law by Governor Bredesen on Feb. 22.
Over fifty billboards across the state have been donated by Lamar and Clear Channel One to help defray the costs to help save TN motorcyclists lives. The money will be used to provide the actual costs of production
CMT/ABATE, Inc. is a non-profit, political organization that was formed to preserve freedom and safety for all Tennesseans who enjoy motorcycling. The major goals of CMT/ABATE are to modify existing laws that are detrimental to motorcycle safety and enjoyment, and to enact new legislation in support of all motorcyclists who ride in Tennessee.
