Motorcycle buds

Assuming you do ride with other people most of the time, how exactly did you meet your motorcycle friends?

Ive noticed on some youtube videos, that some vlog motorcyclists will just hop into a random motorcyclist party. Or they'll play cat and mouse untill they get to their exit ramp / intersection. Not really in-depth freidnship going on there, but I can see how fun it would be.

Ive kinda been wondering the same thing. None of my buddies ride, and so far ive been sort of a loner when it comes to riding. Ive thought of maybe checking out a random bike night but they seem to be pretty "clique-ish".

It seems to me that if you dont ride a sportbike or a harley you are some kind of outcast, at least in this area.

I met pretty well most of them here, on TMW

and we developed some pretty good friendships last season.

(But I am rather picky about who I ride with, I don't just ride with anyone. and it's not the bike they ride but how they ride.)

I mean.. I'm half serious. I kinda do need some characters to follow me around while taking my first steps in the motorcycling world.

Well, this might work better - but you probably want to use the U.S. specific one (not the Canada) and see what happens. it's how we started up last year and we ended up with a very diverse riding group of sporties and cruisers. Or check out your area for groups too.

if you see a fellow rider talk to him.. ask him if there's any local message boards for riders in your area

Where I live there is a group that formed over the net. Now there are 900 or so members! They do bike nights and get togethers all the time. Its a lot of fun, and Ive met some cool people. Search in your area for motorcycle forums, start your own, talk to other bikers, put an ad on something like craigslist asking to meet other bikers...

17, massachusetts.. i have no one either.. it's only a 6 hour drive
