Ouch. I was hoping that it just fell off the kickstand at the side of the road.....but then I see your kickstand is up.....
Any damage?

ha, thanks guys. I'm fine, the bike is fine aside from a slightly bent front brake lever, no big deal at all.
this was my commute home from work. The pictured road is a road i ride every day, although usually in the other direction.
basically what happened is that i got lazy. I just turned onto this road from a side road you can just barely make out to the right of in the pic. As I made the turn, I was watching a speeding car coming towards me, as well as an deer off the road to the left(i normally see 20-40 deer every day in that park, no big deal). Well, i forgot to watch where I was going, took the turn too wide, and just clipped the edge of the road witch has a 4-6 " drop off into wet grass. Thats where the bike ended up laying. Basically one minute i was riding, and the next I was standing in the grass next to my bike. it was still running. somehow i jumped off right onto my feet. I was never going fast because it happened in the middle of my turn.
A car coming the other direction asked if I was ok. I said, "yea i'm fine, i'm just stupid." I snapped a few pics with my phone, picked up the bike (its heavier than i thought!), and went on my way. As i said the front brake lever was slightly bent, but fully functional and you can hardly tell.
Anyway, not bad for my first fall. Ive been riding since about 96, although most of my miles I've put on in the last 4 years. I was laughing at myself right after it happened (and I saw there was no damage)

.
Gotta love ride to work day! Never did see another rider though...

Hey, that road looks familiar...
Anyhow, glad you're OK but I would still get the brake lever checked out anyway just to be safe. The front brake is something never to be screwed with.
