Long story short:
I have a 7/8" handlebar and am trying to mount a clutch lever mount designed for a 1" handlebar to it.
I'm using a piece of rubber as a stopgap measure, but would like something more solid.
Anyone know where I can buy this sort of thing, or have a good idea for something more sturdy to use?

actually, if the rubber is thick enough and goes all the way around the handlebar, then you should be able to tighten the perch bolts down tight enough that it will be solid enough. you also get the benefit of a little bit of vibration isolation for the clutch lever that will reduce vibration wear on the lever pivot.

The rubber seems to work more or less OK, but the whole mount still moves a good bit and I'd like something a little more... solid.

How thick is the rubber? Is it like inner tube rubber or is it a strip/strap/sheet piece that is thicker? An option is good 1/8"ish (1/4" is too thick probably) rubber that you use for mats/padding like between a truck's toolbox and the bed.

It's actually an air mattress repair kit. Thick rubber, but it's still rubber. If I'm going to go buy something, I'd like to buy something a bit more solid. I don't like feeling the lever mount flex and move a bit when squeezing the clutch.
It is an option though, thanks.

Many mounting clamps (like used for fairings) are 1" but come with a steel adapter for 7/8. Most shops that use these on 1" just throw away adapters.
