I've always loved looking at these bikes. I'll be taking the bike course this summer, here in Toronto. The used bike review does not mention any of these bikes. Are they OK for beginners? I was looking at a 1992 ZX-7R or 1994 zx-6R. The styling is great on these, and really I don't see another bike that compares to it. Handling, I'll know what to look for as I take the course.

I'm 6' 2", 82kg.

I have to agree Mongoose they're beautiful bikes and I'm going to slightly disagree with the other two posters.

Take a look at this table showing BHP's for used sportsbikes:

http://www.flamesonmytank.co.za/SecondH ... dsport.htm

The zx-6r is listed at 100 BHp for the year 95-97 with dry weight 182 kg.

You might wanna try and find out for the year 94 but it should be similar BHP or even less.

As things go this is not neccessarily too much for a first bike, provided you treat it with respect..... bikes like the Honda 599 or Fazer (both good first bikes for those looking to graduate to higher powered sports bikes)both clock up BHP's in the mid-90's and weigh less.

100 BHP is definately the limit though for a first bike.....

Ask around and get other opinions......

Good luck!
