Hey all! It's been awhile since I've been here. 8)

I'm looking at purchashing a Ninja 250. But, (there's always a but) I'm concerned about the 29.3" seat height. It's just a little too tall for me, to where I cannot flatfoot. I can tiptoe, but I do not feel comfortable doing this.

Is it possible is have the suspension lowered 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches and not compromise safety?

I love the looks and style of the Ninja 250, or should I stick with a cruiser. Virago 250? Eventually, I'd like to have both.

Thanks!

Here is an article about lowering the ninja 250:

http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Are_there_ ... he_bike%3F

It gives a link to the lowering kit you can buy, but it recommends you try shaving down the seat and/or buying smaller tires over messing with the suspension.

Its been a long while since I've been here too... :)

How tall are you? I have a 2006 Ninja 250, and I'm 5'1. I can "ball of foot" the bike, and it took me a couple of weeks to get used to my heel not touching the ground (I can flatfoot my Shadow VLX though). I try to make sure that I park so I can just roll away, instead of having to back up an incline with only the balls of my feet.

While its possible to put lowering links on the bike, I don't know how carrying a passenger would be with it lowered like that. Hopefully a shaved seat will help! :)
