Need opions on Icon full face helmets

I hear there is more art than function to them.

They're made by HJC. They function fine - but don't necessarily have the 'best' finish on them. They will keep your head safe.

There not made by hjc. There made by xpeed. Z1r's are made by hjc. A guy over on ninja250.com went down with a pair of icon gloves on and they shreded. He said he wouldnt be buying another pair and I dont blame him. As far as there helmets Ive seen at least two of them fail the dot test(
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/testing/comply/fmvss218/). I was tempted to buy an icon myself because both the mainframe and alliance fit well and they were light. I just wasnt sure Id feel safe after seeing a bunch of people complain that there icon gear/clothes failed when they crashed.

I trust Icon about as far as I can throw the CEO (assuming he's not a midget).
