Over $3 million in Harleys?

I spent last week flying and camping at out of the way airstrips in Montana with some friends. When we dropped into a remote airstrip in Seeley Lake, MT, we were advised that the airport would be closed in the morning because several hundred Harleys would be stopping by to have their picture taken on the runway.
Turns out that there's some sort of cross-country Harley ride (I heard Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon) with about 500 Harley owners doing all or part of the trip.
Early the next morning, they started filing through the airport fence. One of the guys in our group was counting and made it to 275 before he gave up. Almost every one was fully decked out in Harley add ons. Some of us started wondering how much money was invested in that huge pile of motorcycle metal and plastic. Feel free to make your own guess.
As an aside, I noticed that most participants were on the downhill side of forty. I asked one of the organizers about the demographics of the group. She said just over 500 owners had registered for the ride and only 3 or 4 of them were under the age of 35.
