I know I know.... gf should never have worn heels but she did.
My bad but what's done is done, do I still qualify for help?
At some point during the ride she said her heels was slightly touching the muffler and sure enough, when we got off there was a spot of goo on the muffler. Any help on how to take off that sticky mess please?

I would try some Goo Gone. Dont know if it'll work on melted plastic but its worth a shot. They sell it at hope depot and places like that. Ive used it for getting off gunky bumper stickers and stuff...it worked well, just need a rag and a little elbow grease.

Yeah, but I bet she looked good!
Do NOT use a razor blade, you will gouge the chrome no matter how careful you are. Start the bike, get the pipes hot, then shut it down. Use a piece of hardwood to scrape off as much of the melted shoe stuff as possible. When the pipes cool down again, use the Goo-Gone and lots of elbow grease with a clean rag. Final specks can be removed with a good quality chrome polish.

Good for him. He's experienced. The OP is not.

She did! She did!

Now if I can manage to take that smudge off it would be even more worth it!
We don't have Goo gone here, what do I use, something alcohol based maybe? Or WD-40? Am really scared of ruining the finish

A little olive oil will work just as well as goo gone.
