A few questions...

Greetings,
I'm a returning rider. 20+ years ago I had a '79 Honda CB750K as my first bike. (not a good choice but I got it for $300 and a hunting rifle) I only put a few thousand miles on it before I sold it. Then I got a wife and kids, and promised I wouldn't ride until they were all grown. The youngest turns 18 this coming February, so it's going to be bike time! The wife wants a bike/trike of her own also, and yes we are already signed up to take the safety course. Now with all that out of the way here are some questions.
1. Is there an unwritten rule that says cruiser riders should not wear full face helmets?
2. Does a belt drive have any advantages over a shaft drive?
3. My wife has ridden as a passenger on a BMW bagger before we met, but never driven anything larger than a mini bike. She says she wants a trike because 2 wheels are unstable. Anyone been in this situation and had the wife decide 2 wheels was fine?
