only $300... is it worth fixing up?
there is a 1980 suzuki GN400, 400cc single cylander four stoke engine for sale.
guy says it was purchased at an impound auction. he has no title, and no key.
he says the tires are new, but it is missing the kick start lever, the chain and the turn signals . he says the engine will run good, but the bike is not drivable. he says it can be fixed or used for parts.

Well... if he has no key and no title, I'd wonder if it were stolen.. except for the fact that it's in rather crappy condition.

I'd buy a non-running bike
I'd buy a bike with no title if I confirmed I could get one and the cost
I'd buy a bike with no key
I'd buy a bike that needed a lot of work
All four together... I don't know about that for $300. Unless you've done a whole lot of restoration and have really high hopes for this particular Bike I'd walk away. Plus, unless you know the guy personally I'm not sure I'd take his word for it running before. You could easily spend weeks and over $1000 getting this bike running. Of course, it could be cheaper - hard to say without checking it out up close. My two cents is I'd save my $300 and put it with another few hundred bucks - you can get a much better deal than this in my opinion. Lots of people sell running bikes from the 80's for $500 or so if they have cosmetic problems.

If there is no title, wouldn't that cause problems getting insurance?
