Thought this was funny

No picture, sadly, but as I was heading to work yesterday I saw guy on a scooter. Tall guy, skinny, wearing a skidlid and a fruit of the loom undershirt. But the funniest part was the way he was riding.

He was leaning forward and had his feet on the passenger pegs. And the look on his face,

It was hilarious, I wish I had remembered my phone had a camera built into it.

So, do you think he knew how to ride a scooter and was trying to be more aerodynamic, or was he just kind of "special"?

If you were in Atlanta, that could have been me.

Unlike motorcycles, small displacement scooters are often rode throttle all the way open at their top speeds, the only way to go fast is to modify your aerodynamics. Duck down until your helmet is just above your handlebars to minimize sail.

My feet are almost always on my rear pegs on my scooter. Floor boards are narrower and tend to put your weight on your butt. Its easier to use your body weight to control scooter using the spread out rear foot pegs. Sometimes I stand up on the rear foot pegs and move the scooter around under me to manouver, BMX style.

On long rides, I will sometimes hook my feet over the passenger pegs to stretch out a little bit. Never for more than a couple of seconds.

Sounds pretty funny though ;)

Tucking in on a scooter definitely makes a difference.

But most of all he was probably just having a good time, not giving a rats "O Ring" what anyone thinks of how he's riding. Like most of us should be. ;)

Feet back a little more and you've got our man Flint dead-on.

Also, much smaller scooter.

Forgot to mention it looked like a Pep Boys special.
