hello everyone,

i bought my first bike today. I am 19 and have ridden bikes since i was little. They were little dirtbikes some of them but bikes nonetheless. My brother recently bought a 97 ZX6 and rightaway i knew i wanted a bike.

Today I financed a black 2006 Suzuki Katana 750. It it used, about 4k miles on it, only thing wrong with it is the front right blinker is busted, but the dealership ordered a replacement and will give it to me and install it for free if i want them to.

He also threw in a Scorpion Helmet for free.

so yea, i let my bro ride it home and i took for a spin around the neighborhood, (not for too long because i'm going to get my permit and insurance tomorrow )

I can say the riding part comes pretty natural because of my history of riding bikes and atv's, the only thing i'm having any kind of problems with is low speed gear shifting and maybe little bit of trouble with low speed cornering. but i'm guessing with practice both of these will be gone soon.

Too bad i didn't get the bike a month or so earlier, my bro and a couple buddies are going to the gap this weekend.

the only thing that was wrong is that busted blinker, they had ordered it and were gonne put it on, i went and picked it up today and put it on myself though.

If you really want to improve your skills, the easiest way to do it will be taking a motorcycle training class. The MSF basic course is a great way to make sure you don't have any bad habits and to reinforce your good ones. Take the course to get feedback from professional Rider Coaches and then take more training.

It's fun and will help you be a better rider.

It really might be for the best that you are not going to Deal's Gap the first week you have your bike.

Something doesn't look right in those pics.

Too much undisturbed stuff in back of that bike for a new purchase.

sweet bike. Congrats on the new one. Your garage looks just as cluttered as mine cept I have to make sure my wife can park her van in the garage as well as my bike lol.

There was several days in between the posting of the thread and the posting of the pictures.

I don't think that a sawzall, extension cord, and some supplies appear to be undisturbed stuff. Looks like the remnants of a project.
