M50 or C50
M50 or C50
I going for it and I am thinking about getting a 2007 or 2008 M50 or C50 - Any recommendations?
Do you think I will have any issues with the lack of a tech on the m50 and C50?
I want to get shaft drive and fuel injection and in the 800cc range while keeping the cost (new) to arouind $7000k.
Any other suggestions or is the C50/M50 the way to go and will I miss the tach?
Thanks!!

I have an 05 C50. biggest complaint so far is the stock seat. the bracket that bolts it to the fender if a humped up....well pain in the butt. From what I gather people cut the uplifted part out and relocate the mounting bracket. I think i'm gonna try that. Otherwise.....great ride. I caught myself coasting down a hill with no hands the other day.

c50t and m50 expert? nah not really. but have both!
my dad has a c50t and i have a m50.
we got them about well the weekend before last...
The dealership said the m50 and c50 have the same engine, and this very well may be true but the m50 seems to be a little bit torquier... and the clutch feels different on the m50 as well.
the m50 sits probably 1" to 1" 1/2 lower maybe 2's...
they are both very comfortable rides for my dad thats 5'6" and me that is 6". I think the seat thing is really just a cop out, you sit on anything for to long and its going to start to hurt, but your butt will soon toughen up and you'll be fine.
as far as which one to get thats what you like, my dad loves the old classic indian style motorcycles with the long low fenders and the saddle bags and windsheild, me on the otherhand i like the sportier style the sleek lines only bring what you can carry on your back.
and thats exactly the different between these two bikes... You can see the generation gap in the bikes, my dad is 55 and loves his c50t its loaded has studded bags and sissybar and windshield, and the m50 its a perfect blend between cruiser and sport bike for me. and the power is all you'll need this is for sure.
I weigh almost 300lb's and i don't look to big the bike fits me perfect, and my wife is probably 175ish range and it'll pull me and her all day long without a problem.
like i said both bikes are basically the same its whatever style you want.

No...not a cop out. Go press down in line with the center of the C50 seat say about an inch from the pillion seat. Right at the stitching. You will feel what appears to be a cancerous lump of uranium. This particular lump, on me and quite a few others from what i have read, tends to impact the tail bone. Or even if it's a smooth road, just to put pressure on it.
Now maybe I've just got an overly large sensitive "O Ring". I suppose it's possible. The rest of me doesn't hurt. In fact the rest of my rear feels rather like a fluffy bunny surrounded by devils food cake.
Moreover, if you remove the C50 seat, flip that sumbitch upside down and take a gander, you will immediately notice the large section of plastic that is raised Into the seat padding.
I have no clue about the M50 seat, having never so much as sat on one.

I have the 07 C50T too. Got it with the gel seat, which I find comfy enough (rode 170 miles on Saturday with no discomfort). Great bike. Destroyed my ability to effectively do my job, since all I do is think about riding now though. If you're interested in negotiating the price with a dealer, here's the poop on the C50T (anything over the $6848 is the profit to the dealer; the dealer should be allowed to make 5% -10% profit):
Dealer Invoice Report
2007 Boulevard C50T
List Price: $7949
Dealer Cost: $6773
Dealer cost price includes $175 freight charge for shipping from the manufacturer to the dealership.
Assembly Cost: $75 per Suzuki dealer price sheet
Each dealership has its own method of figuring the actual cost of assembly and preparation for sale.
Ready to Sell Cost: $6848
The "Ready to sell cost" is the cost of the machine with NO PROFIT to a dealer. Dealers do not stay in business very long by selling machines for no profit.
Dealer Holdback: This Suzuki has 5% (of list price) dealer holdback.
Holdback money is paid to Suzuki dealers in February for units sold between July 1 and December 31 and in September for units sold between January 1 and June 30. Dealers must pay Suzuki the full "Dealer Cost" price and wait 1 to 6 months after selling the machine to receive their dealer holdback.
Many dealers charge additional fees for "Freight and Setup" over and above the selling price of the machine. Add the "Selling Price" to the "Freight and Setup" charges and subtract the "Ready to sell cost" to determine the PROFIT a dealer is asking to make.

okay so i went down and checked out the seat, neither the seat on the m50 nor the c50t have this mysterious buldge... these are both 07... could it be possible that they fixed it in the 07 model?roscowgo wrote:No...not a cop out.
