What to do if your Helmet smells?

#1 Unread post by NJ04SS »

Hey everyone

I have an HJC CL-15 with removable pads so I will be washing them. But my next question is, is there anything to spray in the helmet if it starts to smell? mine does not smell horrible...its just my nose is sensative to that. Is there anything I can buy to spray that is not toxic to you lol. Thanks in advance

I wear a bandana on my head inside my helmet.
It's easy to wash that regulary and it keeps your helmet clean, especially in hot weather.

Wear a bandana and wash your helmet liner if it pulls out.

Hi... use a solution of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water.. spray on the inside of your helmet. Careful, it may still bleach the colour a bit...if that doesnt work try same with vinegar.. one part to ten parts.. finally if all else fails.. suck a quarter of a lemon while you drive...

cheers

Reminds me of the story my dad told me about when he was about 17 years old and had a bike. The Spencer Airport was run by his grandfather at the time, and his father would take aircraft fuel (120 octane) and use it in the lawnmowers. Well, one time he ran out of fuel, and just took a gas can from the garage and put it in his tank.

As he said to me "It worked mint... for about 15 minutes."

Yeah, obscure reference, sorry.
