Youch!!! that hurts

Wife took the S50 out today for the first time and spent quite some time on it. She didn't feel comfortable putting it in the garage so I got on it to put it away.
Did I mention that I was wearing shorts? Got my leg Tooooo close to something and now have a sweet 2"x 4" burn(2nd degree) on the inside of my right leg.
Oh the lessons of a newbie.
On the brighter side I purchased my leather jacket last night.

Why didn't she feel comfortable putting it in the garage anyway? I think this would be your ticket out of doing chores for a while.

Wash your burn with soap and water if you haven't already. Other than Polysporin or other antibacterial ointment, don't put anything else on it. Cover with gauze and then bandage. Change daily. If the gauze sticks when changing it, wet with water to get the gauze off.
One good thing about an engine burn is that the burn is probably sterile due to the high heat involved. It's probably 3d degree with 2nd and first degree burns on the periphery. I'm sure it's as painful as the one I did.

Some things you never learn except by accident.
I think this applies to about 99% of physical dangers.
And I'm not ruling out high-side falls at 60 mph.
Be careful out there.

Yup. Its painful. But it got me on wife's good side. She feeling all guilty now for not putting the S50 in the garage, even though it my fault for getting branded.

Squid? No. Whipping Boy/Man Servant would have been more fitting at the time. I was on her bad side up until burn, now I'm good-to-go (at least for a few days)

As a reference, I included a 3" square Post-It note in the pics. the wound is 5 days old at this point. Was changing the bandage and had my camera phone handy.

Doc won't do much. Doesn't look infected.
Just keep it super clean (that means you have to scrub, yes this hurts), use Betadine and Neosporin...
That looks like it really f'in hurts. Guess you learned something

Sure he will. He'll ask you what happened and then tell you not to do it again while billing your insurance $150 and you a $15 copay. Then he'll give you some bandages and an antibiotic cream worth maybe $8.
