Well I just returned from a weekend trip to Mackinac Island MI from Chicago. 990 total glorious miles through interstates, twisties, and long sweepers. This bike just rocks!!!! My bud Seth Kane posted a better ride report here: http://www.drill-online.com/forum/fo...s.asp?TID=1695
so you can read about it with cool pics. Anyway here are a few observations.
1. This is an amazing machine. Rides smooth as silk and fun in the twisties and sweepers.
2. The roads in Michigan are awesome. Well maintained, not a lot of traffic and has great variety.
3. After 450 miles straight home yesterday I was totally comfy.
4. I'm looking forward to replacing my bridgestones next season. On the long super-slabs I felt that the tires were a bit slippery at 75-85mph. Not crazy movement but enough to look forward to the Michelin Pilots.
5. Can't find a need to ever upgrade this bike.

Nice! My weekend trip was a bit shorter than yours, 840 miles. Started in Detroit, to the northern part of the lower peninsula, west, then south to Battle Creek, up to Grattan racetrack for track day on Monday, then rode home to Detroit.

And northern Michigan roads rock. There are some nice ones in the southwest part, but once you get north of Lansing they just get better and better and better...
