84" Nighthawk Carb problem
84" Nighthawk Carb problem
I finally got my 84' cb700 nighthawk back together after putting in some new gears. I cleaned the carbs and had it running. the 1st and 3rd cylinders are running about 100 degrees hotter than the 2nd and fourth. What I am thinking is that the float bowls aren't set right. Or it isn't sycronized quite right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I syncronized the carbs this evening and it didn't help. It did run stronger than before but not even close to what it is capable of. After my ride I noticed it backfired quite a bit, which tells me it is running lean. Also when I syncronized the carbs and blipped the throttle one cylinder sucked more than the other. However, when it idled they equaled back out. What is causing it to suck more at midrange and high end than at idle?
