Okay, I wear glasses and just bought a full face helmet. It takes a bit of work to get my glasses on, but that's not really the issue. When I open the visor to vent it a little bit the air gets in and behind my glasses, making my eyes water and tear. I'm just wondering if anyone makes motorcycle prescription glasses or at least just wrap around glasses/sunglasses? How much am I looking to spend on these?

How much you spend depends on what you want. You can spend any where from $10 - $200.

I have gone to my local dealer (ChicagoCycle), but all they had was 'regular' glasses. I need to have my prescription glasses on when driving/riding... so I need riding glasses with a prescription. I am stopping by there again today to pick up a special order part... I'll ask another person there, maybe the person I asked before just didn't know.

Try some where like Lens Crafters, or where you got your glasses. They maybe able to order something for you.

What about the prescription goggle-glasses you see athletes sometimes wear?

Don't know if this will help. But I wear a pair of RayBan sunglasses I got from LensCrafter, with my perscription lens.. Of course I got them "awhile ago" but if memory serves me right, I think they ran right around $150 - $200 area..

I have a pair of ESS ICE shooting glasses with prescription inserts. They come standard with clear, smoke and yellow lenses. The smoke one is what I use for riding around town. Good for riding up to 50mph with the shield open on my modular and I know it's got good strike resistance. Nice thing is the lens gets scratched you just replace it and use your inserts with the new lens. You take the insert frame to some place like Lenscrafters and have them use them for your prescription.

Only drawback, you'll have people ask you if you're trying to look like a cop or operator. Solidly built for a good price.

Looked into it a few years ago - wraparound prescription sunglasses. We do lots of inline skating and thought it would be good. When you talk to the people at Lenscrafters, they can't and won't do it. The wrap-around part distorts the prescription. So you can't get "Oakley's" in prescription, but yes some Ray-Ban, etc...since the lens is flatter. So unfortunately I think your out of luck. If do manage to find someone to do them for you and they are true wraparound, you might find yourself with headaches and vision issues!

When I get a new set of glasses I take the old ones and have new sunglass lenses put in them (prescription sunglasses!!).

I haven't tried this, but it may help you..Take some adhesive backed foam weatherstripping and outline your glasses. The expensive sunglasses have foam around them, so why not try it on your prescription glasses?
