lowering the rear of my 88 shadow

I have been looking all over the internet for lowering kits or shorter rear shocks. I cant find anything for the 88 honda shadow vt1100c. I have found a lowering kit for the 600. I dont know whether the kit would work or not. I plan to lower the rear and raise the front to give it a chopper kind of look. Just wondering if there is any other way to lower the rear end that i havent stumbled upon without having to weld. i dont want to mess up the handling.
