Well now that it is time to sell this piece I get some more problems with it. If you rev the bike a little the revs will just run away. Here's the deal:
Stock Jets:
115
60
Jets I'm running:
105
60
I have not yet synched the carbs.
Timing is dead on and even a little retarde will still run away with the revs
With the stock jets the bike just bogs at about 7000 rpms
thats why I'm running the slighly smaller ones.
So are the revs running because:
To lean a mixture?If so then it will run like crap at top end

Incorrect timing? Although it is right on at the timing marks, could something be wrong?

Incorrect point gap? Does this make the revs run away?

Carb syncronization? Would this make that big of a difference, would I have to change the jets to the bigger one?

Well i have got it narrowed down that the carb mixture is too lean and the carbs are starved for fuel and that's why they are racing. Or for some other unforeseen reason like breaker-point gap, which I haven't checked yet, but would that do it?

i am confused! you will have to explain better.

if you mean that the engine is reving without the throttle. then forget the whole ignition system for now.

it must be getting air/fuel to rev. so check for sticking throttle/linkage or for a vacum leak. when its reving on its own grab the carb linkage and try to return it back. also while its running take the airbox off and shine a light in there and see how far open the throttle plate (s) is.

I'd lean towards it being a lean mixture, too.
