Hi, I am planning to purchase these grips for my 1994 Shadow VT600. Any advice on fitting would be greatly appreciated. Would I be able to it myself or would I need to send it to the shop. Thanks.

Did it myself for my Valkyrie, just remember to dry fit them so you can get them lined up properly and mark them using some masking tape and a felt pen. Put the tape on the leading edge of the grips and on the switch assembly, line the grip up correctly and mark both pieces of tape. Put a spacer between the right hand assembly and the grip, if any glue gets between them, it will be hard to go anywhere with a throttle stuck at the idle position. Oh yeah, the glue sets really fast so be firm and direct with the install, don't stop halfway on or you'll be buying new grips...

I've heard a lot of people say not to use the glue that comes with the grips, but instead to use hairspray (!). Apparently, a good sticky hairspray keeps the grips on just fine, and is easier to work with than that quick drying glue Kuryakyn provides. Haven't tried it myself - the Iso grips are next on my wish list. But though I'd pass along the info I read on the Volusia forum.

Hmmmmm... hitting a bumpy section of road and I'm feeling okay, because I know my grips are secured with Pantene Flexible Hold Hair Spray. Yup nothing like having your safety right up front and taken care of...
