I'm trying to decide on what tires I should get. I need front and back tires. I'll be riding this bike nearly everyday to and from work and other places. I want something for cruising around but some thing I that will keep me up if I got into some hard corners. I want good milage out of them. Plus the better the price the better for me since I'm not rich.

personal I use the Bridgestone Battlax tires. They are inexpensive and hold the road very well.

Bridgestone Spitfire S11's

sport touring tire, so long life compound in the center with stickier compound on the sides.

I just got a hole in my rear tire this past weekend. I don't know how, I didn't run over anything. The only thing that I can think of is there was something stuck up that poked a hole in the tire when I went over the railroad tracks. I have been asking other people on another board dedicated the F650 what tires they recommend. I have heard Metzler M6 and Avon STs recommended a lot. I think I am going to replace mine with the OEM Dunlop SportMax D207. I don't know much about tires for bikes since this is my first experience getting a tire for the bike. Any suggestions would be helpful. On thing that suprised me was how few miles people are getting on their tires. The OEM tires are all Z rated but still people are talking about 4000 miles! That seems really low. How many miles do you guys get on your tires?

I bought the bike with 18,000KM and put knew tires on it at purchase. I just put a new set on last month and the bike has 42,000KM. So I got 24,000 KM out of the tires. But keep in mind I baby my ride, no smoking the rear for me.

Psycho,

You don't want to cut corners too much when it comes to the tires. They are an important aspect to keeping you and your bike upright on the road.

I have an 06 gsxr1k that i bought in late august. I live in new england so i havent had much riding time but i have gotten in almost 5K miles. The front tire is good but the back spins so much its pretty far down. I figure about another 1000 before i hit the wear bars. I havent smoked the tires for the hell of it or anything either those were pretty much standard riding miles. I figure I will get about 8 or 9K miles before i replace the tire, i dont really ride in the rain so i will run it bald
