Hey All, I just came upon this forum and it looks like there is some great information here.
I have a problem and I hope you all can maybe help.
I purchased a 2000 Suzuki Marauder (VZ800) last week and after putting a couple of hours on it, it just died. Lost all electrical power. Discovered that the 30 amp fuse in the master relay (I think that's what it's called) was blown. The other fuses in the fuse box are O.K.. Replaced it and it blows as soon as I turn the key. So, something is shorting out somewhere on the bike. The bike is now at a local bike shop here in Honolulu and they can't seem to track it down.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Any help or advice would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks in advanced,
Marc

It definately sounds like it icould be ignition switch related. One safe way to troubleshoot is to buzz each of the wires in the ignition circuit with a meter only checking continuity between the hot wires and ground. you won't need to apply any power for these checks. You would need a wiring diagram of the bike to do that. You could use this technique and go from system to system searching for the problem. It can take awhile but eventually you should find it. Blowing a 30A fuse is a significant short. Start with the ignition switch, then the starting circuit and then behind the headlight. Problems like to hide themselves behind the headlight. Good luck.
