I'm looking at getting a 2004 SV650S for 3800. It's got the full-fairing, sliders, and 13000 miles. He says it's never been down, raced, or stunted. It has a clean title. I went to look at it tonight and it is cleaner than the ones in the showroom.

Here's the link to the CL ad: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/mcy/432183529.html

Here's the link to more pictures he sent me: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11009380@N ... 165311121/

My question is what kind of services a 13k bike needs.

Anybody have any alarms going off in their heads, saying, "Dave! Don't do it!!" ?

Your 2 cents would be appreciated.....

Thanks,
Dave

To be safe, an oil and filter change, tune up and a damn good once over by a mechanic......best to have it checked out top to bottom and inside and out.....just to be safe.

Looks great! I have SV650S too, sans the lower fairings, unfortunately.

If anything, price seems too low. I would ask the guy about that. But hey, sometimes you do get lucky.

Yeah. Lucky for me, he's going to San Diego until Sunday, and I'll have the money for him by Saturday. That way nobody can buy it out under me!

Has it had the valves done yet? I think they need the initial valve check at about that mileage. The chain might be getting stretched, depends on the last guy's riding style.
