Ok I have NEVER changed a clipless chain before. I just bought the chain and sprockets for my bike online (hope to have them by friday in my possession) and I also bought the chain break/rivoting tool by motion pro.
What I am curious about is how do I know when I have the master link correctly riveted? I have no problem breaking the chain I do that all the time using a chain break that was waaaayyy cheaper than this motion pro setup lol. Just curious about the riveting part since I have never done it or seen it done.

You will know because the pins will be crushed so the master link can't fall off anymore.

yes but cant you go "to far" with the tool and crush the master link itself?

Basically do it small amounts at a time, and once it peens over you've done it enough. The goal isn't to flatten it out, rather to create a lip.
You'll know you went too far if you squish an o-ring out the side. Your first time it might be advantageous to buy a second masterlink. They're only $7 or so, and you can use it if you accidently mess up the first one (like I did).
