carb Q.

#1 Unread post by 78XS400 »

im trying to find a decent carb kit on ebay, but the problem im having, is figuring out which one to get, mostly becuase ive got a 78 frame, with an 81 engine, but im not 100% sure if the carb was from the 78, or it came with the 81. I dont THINK the carbs are different, but i could be wrong, where could i find out this info? would yamaha take the time to tell me?

also, any recommendations with carb kits? im not rejetting nething, mostly just wanna clean it up a bit for when spring comes around

Take all the numbers you can find from the carbs, the engine and the bike and head to the Yamaha shop. A decent shop will look them up for you and tell you what item is from what year. But not every shop is a decent shop, so....

You will probably have better luck if you're standing in front of the counter than over the phone, but your mileage may vary.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:
