My gear got soaked the other day, and I noticed it smelled horrible the next day. I've seen a post on this topic and I just wanted to share my findings. My old gloves smelled the worst of my gear so what I did was place fabric sheets for the dryer in them while they dried. A few advantages of this were 1) it worked great, 2) I keep my gloves in my helmet when I un-gear so now my helmet smells april fresh when I put it on. I've been doing this for my shoes whenever they got wet for a while and it works great for helmets and gloves to I guess I also tried drying them in the bathroom with some candles going but that did nothing. Just thought I'd share this cheap alternative.

For smelly gloves, there are a couple of solutions that work great at eliminating, rather than simply masking, the odor.

1) Febreeze. Soak the insides with Febreeze and allow them to air dry.

2) Odor Eaters foot spray. It's kind of a powder spray, but spray a ton of that stuff inside the gloves and let them air out for a while.

I'll have to try some of these. My boots get wet... Virtually every time it rains. I carry an extra pair of socks with me to work everyday, and put large zip-lock bags over my socks as I ride.

Thus, my boots get wet all the time, and they don't dry too fast either. This is definitely something I'll have to try.

By the way, yes I've ordered a pair of boots better suited for rain, and I'm waiting for them as I type.

I've used baking soda plenty of times. I carefully put a spoonful or two on a napkin inside the glove and let it absorb the odors for a day or two. Works great for boots too.

+1 for the drier sheets. I use those bad-boys for everything!
