Great American Race

I am wondering, do these races exists anymore like they did in the 70's? One coast to the other. I know, the police are a pain in the butt, but that is part of the fun- avoiding them. A 15 minute trafic stop can knock someone out of the race.

 :clapping: :kicking:

Keep your foot on the pedal
Son, nevermind them brakes
Let it all hang out, cause we got a run to make
Boys are thirsty in Atlanta
And there's beer in Texarkana

Just put that hammer down and give them hell. :woohoo:

I knew a guy a few years back, and he mentioned that racing clubs still do exists. They get 20 people in with $1000 each and the winner takes $10,000, second gets $5,000, third gets $2,500. They all meet in the same starting place, and are told their destination, normally some 1500 miles away with lots of different choices for highways or backroads. The first one there in his car or motorcycle wins. They start at 5am, and there is a winner by dinnertime.

Yep, it would take an American to be perceptive enough to notice that most vehicles have multiple brakes, such as front disc brakes and rear drum breaks.
