Gloves Leaving MY Hands Black
Gloves Leaving MY Hands Black
I had a chance to ride for a while this afternoon. I rode about an hour practicing my turns, shifts and quick stops. I am feeling better about my bike. I am begining to recognize how the bike "feels". This is really exciting.
As I have mentioned before I wear all my gear all the time. The problem I am having is my gloves are leaving my hands black. They are Olympia gloves with the leater palms and GEL pads. The backs are the typical stretch nylon. Any suggestions on how I can clean or treat the gloves to stop the color bleeding?

Wowsa. I have a pair of Olympia gloves too, but have never had a problem with my hands being discolored.
Maybe try hitting them with the hose (and some soap, perhaps) to wash out the excess dye?

get used to it, ive tried many diff brands (IMHO alpinestars rock) and any non gortex lined glove leaves my hands a little blackened, no biggy. Side note my old faithfulls are about 5 years old and they still leave black on my hands somtimes

That makes me feel a little better. Yesterday I took the drastic measure of soaking them in "woolite". After about an hour I rinsed them. The water ran black. I soaked them again for about an hour and they still made the rinse water black. I ran water over them and squeezed them out until I was tired. You guessed t. The rinse water still came out black. I let them dry over night. I will continue to use them. Maybe Santa Calus will bring me a new pair of gloves that wont make my hands black.
